I am Devin Dozier, an entrepreneur and promotional creator.
I love conceptualizing totally unique promotional ideas and bringing them to
life, one day at a time.
I am going to discuss, How to build a local community
website. And for the following weeks I’ll be using my own community website,
ULiveWV.com as a case study.
Over the past 3yrs, I have been developing a strategy to
bridge the gap between the Internet and the offline community. What I have
created is an AMAZING system that works full circle to create live events,
productions, and campaigns by the use of talented local residents. The
completed productions of these event and campaigns can then be posted on the online
community website for everyone to see. Here’s how it works, step-by-step…
How ULiveWV Works:
The primary goal of ULiveWV is to develop unique events,
productions, campaigns & services by employing the talents & skills of
local residents. Some work will be volunteer and some will be paid.
All work will be made available for members of “Talent”
level to take advantage of.
For example: If therewere a production that needed an actor, a videographer
and a writer, ULiveWV would fill those positions simply by notifying its
members. Once the positions are filled, we would begin planning the details of
the production.
For example: If there
Here’s the actual
process, which uses easy to follow “gardening terminology”, that we’re all
familiar with:
All events or productions on ULiveWV will begin as a “seed”. A seed is simply an idea that
has yet to be developed. Members who are at the “Talent” level and above can
submit their ideas to ULiveWV coaches. The ULiveWV coaches will review all
ideas presented by members. Only the most promising ideas will make it to the
Seed list.
Once an idea makes it to the seed list, all other ULiveWV members
can comment and vote on it to determine whether it will grow or not. You could
call that “Watering” the seed.
If there’s support for the growth of the seed, it will then
move into the development stage where
the creator and a ULiveWV coach will beginning drafting up general details
like; budget, talents needed, promotion, etc … This is the “Germination” process.
Now that the seed has “sprouted”,
it will be replanted by getting its own group or forum on the website so that
the selected team can further develop its completion. The “Flowering” stage has begun.
Now the FUN part! The once small undeveloped seed is now a full
grown event or production ready to share its wonderful fruits with the local
community. And ULiveWV will promote the “harvesting”
of it.
That’s the basic process of how ULiveWV intends to develop
new activities and events for the local community of the Eastern Panhandle.
However there are a few foundational developments that need to be in place to
keep the process running smoothly. So my first goal is to create an environment
where all seeds can have the best opportunity for life.
My Objective- My
objective is to document the week to week progress of the business and
activities. Every week I will update you on the failures, successes and
occasionally the earnings received.
I’m doing this for 3 reasons… #1 to keep track of my own
progress, #2 to get the support and encouragement of my followers both local
and worldwide and the third reason is so that I may inspire others to build a
local community website to help build up their own communities.
What you can look
forward to- Every week I will review the previous week and explain what
action steps I took and how they turned out. I will give you updates on sales,
website traffic, special events or contacts that were made that may have
impacted the business. I guarantee that this will be an exciting journey worth
following.
Get “front row seats”
as a member – If you’d like to see everything first hand and support me on
my journey I encourage you to join https://www.ULiveWV.com.
Even if you’re not a local resident you can join as a visiting member and
participate. You’ll have the opportunity to offer your input and keep up with
all the behind the scenes action.
We are still in pre-launch phase so please understand the
lack of content at the moment. The official launch of the site is not until the
spring of 2015. Right now, I am just laying the ground work and beginning to
build a foundation of initial contacts and members by offering Martinsburg WV jobs. However, I’ll be more than
happy to respond to your comments, questions or ideas.
So Let’s Get Started!
– I have some pretty big plans for next week. I’m planning to get out into the
community and talk with local business owners about my first project. It’s a
project that will hopefully kick start some revenue and memberships. I feel
this project will be the fire starter that I need to get things going. So keep
your eyes peeled for next week’s video to see how it all turned out.
I am looking for volunteers and helpers. If you believe that the
concept of ULiveWV could help connect the Eastern Panhandle and other
communities around the world and would like to help. Please get in touch.
Be sure to subscribe to get notified of next week’s update.
